Mechanical Maintenance Engineer | Rotating (Iraqi | Local Hire)

• Provide daily supervision of mechanical maintenance crews, ensuring efficient task execution
• Manage maintenance planning and scheduling through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Take ownership of rotating-equipment reliability, implementing best practices
• Coordinate static-equipment maintenance activities to ensure system integrity
• Execute shutdown and turnaround work-packs, adhering to strict timelines and safety protocols
• Authorize permit-to-work and isolation procedures to maintain safe operations
• Supervise contractor and vendor work, ensuring adherence to project standards and specifications
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for repeat failures, implementing corrective actions
• Manage spare parts and materials effectively to support maintenance operations
• Sign off on QA/QC for completed mechanical work, ensuring quality and compliance
• Support pre-commissioning and leak-test execution activities
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports to management
• Conduct toolbox talks and crew HSE briefings to promote a safety-conscious work environment

• Possess a mechanical engineering degree or a recognized trade qualification
• Demonstrate supervisory experience on oil and gas plants, particularly with rotating equipment
• Exhibit a strong background in rotating-equipment overhaul
• Be proficient in CMMS (SAP PM or IBM Maximo)
• Have experience with shutdown and turnaround operations
• Be familiar with permit-to-work systems
• Show exposure to brownfield gas-plant or refinery environments
• Maintain English working proficiency

• Condition-monitoring certification
• Commissioning or start-up exposure
• Previous rotational or remote-site assignments
• Arabic language ability
• EPC contractor handover experience
• IOSH Managing Safely
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
