About this role

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Manager for an onsite role within a brownfield oil and gas setting at the Majnoon Oilfield, located in Basra Governorate, Iraq. This position involves ensuring the safe and efficient execution of HSE activities, adhering to recognized international HSE management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. This position is open exclusively to qualified Iraqi candidates, as a local hire. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supervising various HSE works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

What you'll do

Manage site HSE management systems, ensuring full compliance and effectiveness
Lead HSE audit programs to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to standards
Oversee serious incident investigations, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions
Own HSE key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct trend analyses to inform strategic decisions
Serve as the primary HSE interface with clients and regulatory authorities
Develop the competency of HSE advisors through training and mentorship programs

Must-haves

Possess a recognised HSE qualification, such as NEBOSH IGC or equivalent
Demonstrate substantial site HSE experience on oil and gas projects
Exhibit practical experience with permit-to-work systems
Show proficiency in incident investigation techniques
Be familiar with emergency response protocols
Possess strong report writing and HSE statistics skills
Maintain full English working proficiency
